A brief history on TurboCash.
TurboCash has been around since the late 1980's, It was a dos based system and lost momentum in the 1990's, because of windows based systems.It was eventually re-programmed for windows in 2001. Turbocash then decided to follow a worldwide trend and make their system opensource which means, that the main program is free for everyone to use and distribute. The TurboCash community is growing rapidly.Turbocash have an average of 250 downloads a day from their site. Our belief is that there is no reason why any small to medium business should not have an accounting system. TurboCash compares favorable with most small to medium accounting packages, but remember TurboCash is Free.
A word on opensource.
Opensource is not totally free. It does sound like a contradiction, but to have a great free program like TurboCash, it has to be funded in some way. This is were support, training and plug-in programs comes in. This is true for all commercial/opensource accounting packages except that with TurboCash the accounting tool is free.
